December 9, 2011 iPads for Academic Success ?

Part One--Review
 Read the following comments from last year:  How can we use the iPads to help us academically?

Part Two--Rate and Respond
Go to the following two sites:  High School Apps Florida    and    Hot Apps

Search, Find and Preview at least five apps.  Try different subject areas.

Post a comment below-  tile of the app, rate the app 1-5, cost of the app.  Write a short review explaining how it might help your academic success. You will be graded on your reviews.

  5. History Maps of world I think would be a good one for ap world. I probably rate it a 4 just because I haven't used it yet. This will help for locating places for the maps we do in ap world

  7. I like the periodic table of the elements app! I would rate it a 3 and it's free. This would help our academic success because sometimes in science you need a periodic table and this one would be easy to access and it gives details about the elements.

  8. Mindsnakcs French is a great app with fun games for memorization and other practice! It also comes in German, Portugese, Spanish, Italian, and Russian. (5) cost: 3.99

  9. Calculator Pro for iPad, rate:4, it's a calculator that can be modified to my likings, free

    Geometry stash, 1.99. Rate:4.5, it has all postulates were learning

  11. I think the 3D brain tutor and the 3D cell and staining apps are amazing! They will definitely help us in the futur when studying these subjects in biology! Both of these apps are free.
    For math formulas hd free is also a good app that can help us in math
    Shakespeare is another free app that could help us in our next poetry unit for English
    Finally for world history we could use the free app world book - this day in history showing all the days in history and the historic events that occurred on that day.

  12. The 'literary analysis' app would make it easier to analys thing as well as annotate our books for things that our teachers want us to.
    - this app is rated four and a half out of five stars.

  14. I like quick graph app for math because you can just enter in an equation and it graphs it for you so you can visualize the equation. I would rate it a 4 and it's free.

  15. A app that looks cool is Math tricks because it shows you short cuts in different things. it costs .99.

  16. The math formula reference guide would be one that I would like because I am always forgetting the formulas that we use durring class. It has several formulas from algabra to all the way to statistics! I would rate this a 5 because it would help out a lot and it's only .99 cents.

    This will be good because its much less process intensive then the other calculator we have, and the one we have is a bit glitchy and doesnt even work on mine anymore.

    Comments: one best free apps out there, big buttons easy to use, and get it.

  19. The 3D Cell and Staining tool would be great for studying. It really goes in depth with detail on the individual parts of the cell. (free) (4)

  21. I like the world travel atlas for world history. It's free and it gives details about countries that could be useful to study for tests! I would rate it a 3

    So does the history maps of the world one 4/5
    I would definitely use the Calculator pro app, it has functions that my calculator doesn't; 5/5
    Science Glossary looks really useful, it seems to have a lot of terms I'd need to look up 4/5

  24. Formulas HD, Free,I think it will be good because if you need an equation and you don't know it then it will have it.
    World Book-This Day in History, Free, I think this will be good for when we need to look up Important things in history on any given day.
    123 Coloring Book( in Spanish, English,German, or French), $0.99, I think this can help us learn how to pronounce words while doing a fun activity.
    Spanish English dictionary, Free, I think this will be good in case you need to look up a word that you don't know.
    Chemical Touch Lite, Free, I think this app could help us with learning and using the periodic table.

  26. I like the science glossary because you can look up terms you don't know and it gives you not only the definition but detailed description and examples of it. I would rate it a 4 and it's free!

  27. There is an app on hot apps called air projector free. This seems like a really useful app if a teacher wanted us all to see something like a tutorial or something quickly 5/5

  28. I think we should get the notability because you can take notes in class. Then when you get home you can review them and it will read them to you. This will be a better way for me to review because when I hear it twice I better understand things.

    1. Video Calculus - I think this app could help me toward my academic success because it can help me understand concepts that my teacher might not be able to make clear to me, and give me a leg up in next year's content!
    2. Quick Graph - I think this app could help me toward my academic success because I don't have a graphing calculator and we're starting to graph quadratic functions in my class
    3. Public Speech - I think this app could help me toward my academic success because it can help me feel more comfortable about doing things in front of large groups of people.

  39. I think that 'equation genius' would be a good app to have because if you were having trouble with a problem or needed to check your answer you could go to equation genius and it would give you an answer. It is $2.99
